Star Citizen : Interview de Dan Trufin au Bar Citizen de Liège 2020 trustme emote

According to Dan, refueling is more an activity than a full career. This involves buying fuel (or making it), possibly responding to a distress call, and transferring fuel from one vessel to another.

Chris Robert wants the connection between the ships to be visible . There will therefore be a pole as for supply planes. In the first iterations, this pole will not be implemented. It will be enough to be nearby to be able to make the transfer.

On the technical level, the first iteration mainly requires having the transfer of goods between players (as for the resale of information or the transfer of UEC). They are working on it. To implement the pole between the vessels, you will especially need interfaces allowing the two pilots to align the vessels properly , which seems to be a difficulty for the moment.

Bonus interview with Ulf Kürschner

Communication is very important for Cloud Imperium.

Ulf believes that Star Citizen could have a place on the eSports scene in the future . But there is still a long way to go because it is first necessary to stabilize the gameplay and balance the game.

Any time a dev starts talking about hitting the e-sports market, I always roll my eyes so hard they pop out of my head and roll under the commode.

Honest question to the developers / development-leads spreading FUD around here: Given everybody was happy with the current “game mechanics” / “feature set” and they would impose a complete feature freeze tomorrow: How long would it take them to iron out the existing bugs and get everything stable enough to be green-lighted for a triple A or console release?

This is tough to answer, because the current game mechanics / feature set, as you put it, are not actually coded into the game, but rather an illusion layered on top of the model viewer. The entire codebase is nothing more than a screenshot generator which, based on certain keypresses, visually emulates the surface mechanics of a game without actually having them implemented into the codebase. It’s not possible to fix this for a console release, because those have standards that have to be passed, and even an employee the certification people hired yesterday is going to smell this a mile off. There are no existing bugs to iron out, because the malfunctions in place are not due to code bugs, but are naturally occurring artifacts of the fakery. It’s like asking how long it would take to change a 6-foot tall blue eyed man into a 5-foot tall brown eyed one. There’s nothing wrong or bugged about the first man, his genetic code has determined those traits. You need to just make a new guy with the right code. The game as you see it is all it can ever be, just with more faked layers tacked on top. If they ever want to build a functioning game out of it, it all has to be scrapped and rebuilt as a game. So that makes my answer 3 years.

Claiming that Chris Roberts is a fraud, CIG is a money laundering front and Star Citizen is a scam is defamation. No question. There is nobody here that thinks that what you are doing is not that. I don’t even think you actually believe that. You just somehow think that it’s legal to say whatever on the internet. While the simple truth is that nobody has held you accountable for it. Yet.

saying any of that isn’t libelous and would be impossible to prove in court (for CIG). and yeah you can say just about whatever you want on the internet like “I think Chris Roberts is a dumb fuckhead” and not get in trouble for it because lol

now if a news network published a piece using fake information they knew at the time to be wrong, just to get Chris Roberts in trouble or to hurt him personally or financially, that would be something they can chase

once again Citizens have no fucking idea how the real world works and are probably too fucking old and stupid to learn

I have over $10k invested in this game. I allow myself $5000 of “stupid bullshit purchases” from each of my deployments.

I’m deploying next year and looking forward to buying yet another 5 grand-worth of fake spaceships.

They can’t get an idris into the game after 8 years - it’s gg.

My takeaway from this is that the groundwork is being laid to remove Chris from the project, or at least gut his influence. SQ42 and SC have always been in the hands of this or that guy over the last near decade, but they didn’t draw this much attention to it. This was a deliberate and very public labeling of who’s in charge of each piece, both halves of the project mentioned in the same announcement.

Original Concept incoming.

goon avatar

So let me get this straight- Erin (who is based in UK) is handing off heading up Sq42 to Brian (who is based in Germany) right?

So is Brian moving to the UK?

Or are the devs working on SQ54 moving to Germany?

Or are the teams staying put and switching work from one to the other?

Either way, this all seems like a very efficient way to make games, and a good use of backer dollars. It was very smart of Chris to spread out his studio across several countries on several continents.

Time to buy an Idris.

Something aweful and the refund sub are really annoying. Same arguments year after year…just recycled when they get annilated when something is released. If it can be taken out of context… They will find a way… Even after they canabalised each other their still at it….

they seem to be not putting out a roadmap to stop spoilers and the troll squad from making shit up again….

cant troll or fud if you have nothing and you look really stupid when your troll/fud fails.

Once again CIG - a company with millions of customers and hundreds of millions of dollars invested - finds its actions being dictated by like 30 guys on a forum making fun of them

goon avatar

Please CIG really stick it to the haters and stop releasing any roadmaps or dev videos at all. Then we’d all have to give up and admit that Star Citizen is good.

Sarsapariller

Chris isn’t building a dream video game and never was, we already knew that. He’s building an interactive movie maker. This is why the emphasis is on assets and background rendering performance and sets, sets, sets, and never on any real gameplay. In Chris’s mind, game and movie have become intertwined, and the purpose of the game, for his players, should be to make movies. It’s so obvious now! Film yourself having a grand make believe space adventure. Everything in the game supports this, even the weird nonsensical shit. It’s all sets and props for movie making.

TheAgent

so it looks like there was a huge scam going around the gray market since late 2019 with a user (or multiple users) buying tons and tons of shit for inflated prices (like 1.2x or 1.3x what you can buy from CIG directly lol), then selling them off for half of what they bought it for (they would contest the PayPal transactions as well)

the scammers then turned around and reclaimed the accounts they sold or told CIG they were hacked to reverse the transactions, essentially leaving the buyers holding the bag (the buyers lost real money either through PayPal or other means and also had the ships/credits they purchased or traded removed from their accounts lol)

while investigating this shit, CIG locks you out of your account completely

reddit emote

So account was locked on 31st January. We are now 5-6 weeks later and still have received no word of communication from CIG despite numerous emails and replys to the support ticket they initiated. Still locked out of account. WTF is going on? What is the next step from here to force this to a resolution? This account has about $40,000 USD on it, and is locked due to receiving a $150 or so value ship from this fuckwit.

there’s rumblings that almost all the major sales/trades for the last six months have been tainted using their hacked PayPals or stolen credit cards

but its not money laundering at all, no sir. its totally fucking normal for this to happen with a goddamn video game lol

TheAgent

its also really shady that the current top buyers on starcitizen_trades are all new reddit accounts (six months or less) with almost zero posting history or random posting history with nothing to do with Star Citizen, are placing huge orders (sometimes for a few thousand dollars a week) and their usernames follow the same pattern

that scammer was also buying steam credits at 1.2x their value, and trading steam / Amazon gift cards for RSI credit

like how does that not set off some red fucking flags lol

there was a reveal a year or two back that a lot of the big traders run multiple accounts and simply buy/sell from themselves constantly to keep the “value” of their ships up

but no one cares because the only people buying this shit are insane weirdo crypto space libertarians
