December 2024
I don’t think there was an ELE, but i do think CIG has been mortally wounded by 1000 self-inflicted cuts (and counting) over 2024. We’ll probably know by next week how dire the situation is. I’m not saying “90 days tops,” but the next few days are critical for Parp Citizen. Poor IAE sales could induce an unrecoverable flat spin. The passengers and crew of UEE Only Constant are justifiably nervous and upset.
The Hull E’s relatively low price of $750
As much as I want to see CIG continue down the road toward our shared dream, I also hope that a less-than-stellar fundraising drive in 2924 serves as a wake-up call to senior leadership.
The content team is knocking it out of the park with new facilities and Pyro. The Polaris and SL are very good. Where’s the gameplay? Where are all the fundamental game systems? Where is the progress on professions? We continue to languish in tech-demo territory for so much of the ‘game’. There doesn’t appear to be any unifying direction.
At this point we will see more ships teased and created than them fulfilling on ships already sold.
It a slippery slope to fund your game solely on ship sales and cosmetics.
To the point when you haven’t shown any in game progress it starts to look like a scam.
We haven’t sold out of jpegs yet folks

surprise, they laid off a bunch of people after all that fiasco with the 2 week crunch
lol are these people just now realizing that none of the shit they imagined won’t be in the game and it’s been a scam all along?
Well yeah, as long as it was in development, then they’re totally working on the dream. If they’re pushing out 1.0 and none of that shit is in there, they can’t keep up the mental lie of “it’s still coming!”
Pisscat thinks he would be eating a meal with other Star Citizen high rollers delivering withering bon mots, staff quietly shuffling around doing their jobs, when in reality they’d be on the table teabagging his succulent 30k poly meal or driving hoverbikes in the cargo hold before the inevitable clip n’ explode
The speed run version of Squadron 42 E1 is expected to take anywhere from 30 - 40 hours
we’re reaching flat earth levels of delusion here
there are no time jumps, no loading screens, it’s seamless. Time starts and events happen according to the clock, if you aren’t where you are supposed to be you’ll miss it, fail and be reset back in time. You are given orders and it’s up to you to decide how to go about fulfilling those orders.
Dude is about to experience the harsh reality of “seamless” gameplay when he spends six real-time hours waiting for an NPC to finish their coffee so they can deliver one crucial line of dialogue. I wish I could be there to witness the exact moment he snaps, but fat chance it’ll ever release, so I guess I’ll have to settle for imagining.
He never will realize it
Even if sq42 ever comes out, it will be immediately excused as “they just need a little more time to polish” and all the massive game breaking bugs and jank will be tier 0 of whatever the made up tech is called
It’ll be pushed off into a PowerPoint slide for a few years and then everyone will just forget about it and move on
if you think about it Chris Roberts is the Indiana Jones of gamer dads wallets
Holding up a copy of the Star Citizen guide for modders “This belongs in a museum!”
Looking at my emails, Dec 18, 2015 was the date CIG finally relented and agreed to refund my account. Almost a decade since lol.
Star Citizen might also be going to get “Distress Signals Jamming” abilities besides a whole lot of Quantum Travel interdiction techniques, including “magic” Mass Overshadow Interdiction “Bubbles” where a Ship will be forced out of Quantum Travel even though there is no “real” physical Ship in the proximity of its Quantum Travel path, not to mention all of the various ways to actually “block” a Ship from engaging Quantum Travel in the first place and, if that all was not yet enough, also equipment to actually “track down” the path of a Ship which actually had the luck to engage Quantum Travel and successfully complete it without being dropped out…..
Do any of these mechanics actually exist?
hahahahaha
There is a rummor Sandi Gardiner could be returning
At the time of writing, Insider Gaming has heard of at least three executives with a combined experience of around 25 years at Cloud Imperium Games who have had their positions terminated. It’s said that announcements of their departures will be announced in due time.
…
Speaking with staff, some believe that the change is to save costs rather than to meet deadlines, with rumors around the office even suggesting that Sandi Gardiner, the wife of Chris Roberts, is to return to the company in a more prominent role. Sandi Gardiner left Cloud Imperium Games in May 2019 but remained on the board of directors.
Everyone welcome our new co-ceo and president global sales - Sandi Crobberts!
Don’t worry though we are using your funds with all diligence and due care
Now excuse us we have to board the CIG jet
star citizen isnt a game meant for playing, its more of a catastrophe meant for observing
SC is a fantastic flytrap that captures all the worst people and mercilessly drains them of all their money. Chris Roberts is a hero.
