GTA 6 won’t have salvaging.

GTA 6 won’t have spaceships with interiors.

GTA 6 won’t have mining.

GTA 6 won’t have environmental hazards on different planetary biomes requiring different suits.

GTA 6 won’t have sandworms.

GTA 6 won’t have component looting.

GTA 6 won’t have physicalised cargo hauling or commodity trading.

GTA 6 won’t have emergent piracy either.

I’m not sure how people are thinking that fewer features means more depth?

goon avatar

NO SANDWORMS?!?!

goon avatar

Spoiler alert for those still in any doubt, Star Citizen will not have these things either.

goon avatar

Will SC have the worst kind of electricity?

goon avatar

GTA 1 - no sandworms

GTA 2 - no sandworms

GTA 3 - no sandworms

GTA 3 VC - no sandworms

GTA 3 SA - no sandworms

GTA 4 - no sandworms

GTA 5 - no sandworms

You’d really think Rockstar would have learned their lesson by now. I bet this game bombs hard.

goon avatar

SC won’t have Italian plumbers

SC will not have mushrooms that make you grow larger

SC will not have a whistle that teleports you to another whistle

goon avatar

star citizens are the only people to make these awkward comparisons for the sake of ‘look what star citizen (might) have!’

HAHA, no piracy emergent gameplay in chess!

yes planets can and will be tilted. The weather, the flora etc will vary by latitude. Having planets orbit a star is more complicated because it impacts quantum travel, but axial tilt is no problem…

goon avatar

Star Citizen having fully simulated seasons based on a planet’s axial tilt might be one of the most delusional predictions I’ve ever heard.

goon avatar

Pisscat has transitioned from the dreamer to the realist phase. Since the “npc crew” betrayal post, he’s dramatically shifted his language and become much more emotionally distant, still doing the whole overexplaining thing he does, but he’s hit the realist phase and has been adding more things about his age and the project’s age. Super interesting to see him transition like this, even in the past few months. I don’t think he’ll be able to break his mindset, he’s too invested in many ways, but he’s definitely hitting the realization that he won’t likely see what was originally promised.

goon avatar

He’ll be right back on wagon the moment Chris says something that vaguely seems to support one of his hopes or predictions. There’s going to be an interview or something where someone asks Chris if there’s going to be billions of planets in SC and a wry little smile will grow on Chris’s face and he’s gonna be like “try more like zillions” and Pisscat will cream his pants and write another lecture.

goon avatar

They sold a spaceship newsvan. I know I keep on harping about it but it’s always the immediate image that pops up in my mind when I think of the stupid shit Croberts comes up with.

goon avatar

Now others are blatantly copying Star Citizen’s river tech I hope Chris sues them to oblivion

PC Gamer: There’s still no sign of Star Citizen 1.0, but it did just get a revamped referral program so the die-hards can tempt in even more saps

PC Gamer

One part of the FAQ that had my eyebrows raised was a quasi-marketing reference to potential players as “prospects,” which CIG says are “people who used my referral code but haven’t bought a package yet.”

PC Gamer

This is perhaps the most Star Citizen part of all: the MISC Raptor is the biggest prize, but “while it’s been added to the reward track, it’s still in development and will be delivered at a later date.”

reddit emote

This game, when finished will set a new bar for game companies. I’ve been playing for over a year and I love it sooooo much. There are bugs but it is really close to reaching that goal of release.

reddit emote

The biggest reward on the reward track.. doesn’t even exist yet. I tell you what, I’m thinking about developing some sort of product that caters to this crowd. Holy holy bejesus… These people will believe and buy anything

goon avatar

I think the plan is to bore everyone to death until they stop caring, it’s currently working very well. The only wrinkle is the stated intention to release SQ42 in 2026, I don’t see how that can go well at all, it’s only going to draw attention and raise uncomfortable questions about where the money has gone. If it was me, I’d cancel SQ42 and refund everyone the $30 game price in RSI credits at the end of 2026 and make a big fuss about switching resources to the PU. Two years later I’d switch engines to buy another 10 years for more ship sales development time

Star Citizen Retail Hack

goon avatar

Apparently, there is currently widespread hacking going on. Players getting all their stuff stolen along with mass insta-deaths.

reddit emote

And it’s a good thing the hackers are showing the developers where the vulnerabilities are at this stage of development so that the changes needed, minor or major, can be done before the game is in a Released state.

goon avatar

I do think it’s hilarious that there are people actually bothering to make expoits for Star Citizen. Like why?

MassivelyOP: Star Citizen players try to call attention to reportedly widespread duping and cheating issues

I think this will be the new normal as I really doubt they have anyone with the experience or talent to address it.
